Magento 1 end of life
Magento 1 reaches end of life in June 2020, which means all Magento 1 websites will be vulnerable to attack and not PCI compliant from that date onwards. As if that wasn’t enough reason to upgrade, Magento websites are most commonly run on a currently unsupported version of PHP (5.6), unless you have installed specific patches or upgraded to the latest version which may break 3rd party extensions. This alone could make your site vulnerable to hackers and the financial penalties can be extremely costly.
Our consultants have been working with Magento 2 since it’s release and have handled a wide variety of upgrade projects for a diverse range of clients. One thing that stood out as a common concern was understanding what was really involved in the upgrade and what impact it would have on their business.
