Magento 1 reaches end of life in June 2020, which means all Magento 1 websites will be vulnerable to attack from that date onwards. As if that wasn’t enough reason to upgrade, Magento 1 also requires a currently unsupported version of PHP, unless you have installed specific patches which may break 3rd party extensions. This alone could make your site vulnerable to hackers and the financial penalties can be extremely costly.
